Offer a Smile!
Day Centre in Bârlad (Romania)
What is this project about?
-
Our parish aims to lend a helping hand to 31 children from a Day Centre in Bârlad, Romania. The day centre runs within the Social Centre “Sfântul Ierarh Iosif cel Milostiv” and it addresses children aged 5-14, coming from families in need, with single parents or living with their grandparents.
-
Within this centre, children receive 2 meals daily - after school, and before leaving the centre in the evening to return to their families. They also get help with homework and take part in educational activities.

How do we plan to help?
How can you help?
-
We aim to help these children 3 times per year – for Easter, start of school, and Christmas – with goods for children or with funds for the centre, depending on their needs.
-
We are looking to identify an “adoptive” family or a group of people who can provide long term support 3 times per year.
-
For Easter this year, the centre is planning to buy scooters and roller skates, estimated cost of £1240, equivalent of £40 per child. We hope to collect this amount by 23-Apr-2021.
-
You can help by donating via the parish website, GoCardless option and select Day Centre in Bârlad.
